NAME Endowment Fund Phase II

UNO SCHOOL OF NAVAL ARCHITECTURE AND MARINE ENGINEERING ENDOWMENT

Dear Alumni and Friends of the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at UNO:

With your support, UNO NAME successfully created an endowment fund last year.  NAME alumni, business partners, and friends donated over $26,000.  Thank you!

As you may know, the principal of the endowment continues to stay invested in perpetuity and only its annual revenue is available to support activities and the development of the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.  The modest revenue of the first couple of months will be used to support our students attending the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineering Annual Convention in Houston, TX this October.

For the endowment fund to benefit NAME at an even greater capacity going forward, the endowment fund needs continued growth.  Our goal is to significantly increase the principal this year, so that the annual revenue supports one or two NAME Alumni and Marine Industry scholarships.

Like you, I want the endowment to make a transformational impact on our students, the program, and the maritime community its supports.  To reach this goal, I invite you to support the UNO School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Endowment.

With your tax deductible donation, you support the education of your future employees and colleagues and you contribute to research that will help solving tomorrow's problems.  Our priorities for funding are to

  • support NAME student scholarships,
  • fund student projects and research, and
  • upgrade Towing Tank, Ship Design Computer Lab, and model shop.

This year marks the 36th anniversary of the School of NAME and I humbly ask that you join your fellow alumni and friends and donate to the UNO School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Endowment.
