Update #1

June 03, 2015

We are 35% to our fundraising goal for STEM Scholars after 3 days!  Thank you for your support for our project!

Update #2 Thank You! We’ve reached 63% of our fundraising goal!

June 12, 2015

Thank you to all our donors! The STEM Scholars Camp crowdfunding campaign is off to an amazing start, raising over $6300 in 12 days!  These funds will support 25 students at our camp, providing them with a head start on their academic success! We have 18 days left to reach the rest of our goal and need your help to raise awareness of our program so we can help more students. Please consider sharing our page link https://crowdfunding.uno.edu/project/689 with your friends and networks via Facebook, Twitter, or email.  Thank you for your continued support!

Please view our video to learn more about how your gift will impact students in the STEM disciplines at the University of New Orleans!

One more week to go!

June 22, 2015

Dear STEM Scholar Supporters:

We are so grateful for your support:  with only 7 days left in our campaign, we have achieved 74% of our fund-raising goal thanks to our 55 donors!

We are still signing up our freshman STEM majors for this camp, and we'll continue to do that through mid-July.  It's no secret that many of our students are procrastinators, so we expect the numbers to keep edging up.  However, I wanted to update you on the breakdown by major of the freshman who have signed up. The biology majors are signed up for the biology camp (37% of the applicants).  All other STEM majors are signed up for one of the two Math camps (44% Engineering with the rest from Computer Sciences, Math and Physics majors).   We are excited by the interest our freshmen are showing in this new program.

Thank you and we look forward to sharing our progress with you!

Matching donoations from employers

June 24, 2015

Dear donors,

Your generous donation to UNO STEM Scholars may be able to go farther if you work for an entity that matches gifts to 501(c)3 organizations.  We have had two donors apply for matching funds from their employers which means we are closer to reaching our goal.

If you need help getting the appropriate paperwork for such a matching donation, please contact Melissa Tyler.
