Baseball Alums Wayne Harer and Mac Harer along with his father, Glenn Harer, are challenging the UNO Baseball Community to “step up to the plate” by offering to match every donation, up to $10,000 made to the 2019 Baseball Challenge Drive!!!

UNO Privateer Baseball - a strong tradition of excellence

UNO Privateer Baseball has a long and strong tradition of delivering great baseball to the city of New Orleans.  Its helped produce well-known greats like Randy Bush, Augie Schmidt, Brian Snitker and Johnny Giavotella among others.  With 89 major league draft picks, 16 NCAA Regionals, seven Conference Championships, and two college world series trips, UNO Baseball is not just a sport, but a passion and way of life.

The 2019 UNO Baseball Season

This year we have an extraordinary group of student-athletes who are working incredibly hard on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.  With head coach Blake Dean leading this very talented and determined group of guys, we have all we need to win and win BIG!  Although these young men love their sport, they are here to get an education and deliver in the classroom as well.  This past year we graduated 13 team members and last semester and 28 team members achieved academic honors, attaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher!  After all this, they still find time to give back to their community.  One of our favorite partnerships is with Son of a Saint where several of our players share their time and talent.  

Why Support UNO Privateer Baseball

At UNO we make sure that our student-athletes have every possible advantage to excel and succeed in all aspects of their college experience.  We are able to provide all the basics it takes to run a Division I intercollegiate baseball program.  But because we are always striving to do better and be better - performing at a Championship level - we need to do more.  But in order to do more, we need your support to help us grow our resources.

What your support means to UNO Baseball

Things like facility improvements, equipment upgrades, easier travel for the guys are just a few of the areas that we can do better.  Recruitment is another area - that with your support - could take our program to the next level.  You can make a difference by giving to the 2019 UNO Baseball Challenge Drive.  The proceeds from this campaign will directly impact the Privateer Baseball program and improve the overall student-athlete experience.
